Stainless Steel Jewellery

Stainless steel jewellery is the name for all types of jewellery which are made of the high-quality metal. The term stainless steel can be used for several steels that have a certain quality characteristic. Often the decisive characteristic of stainless steel is its resistance to rust, which, however, does not allow a clear classification, because there are also rust-free steels which are not stainless steel. Without any doubt, however, a stainless steel can also be described as such via its alloying component. According to EN 10020, stainless steel must have a special purity, i.e. a maximum phosphorus and sulphur content of 0.0025% must not be exceeded. Stainless steel, which is used for jewellery production, is rust-free so that it can be used for many years and has an attractive surface. The material has a shiny, robust and modern appearance, which gives jewellery made from it a youthful character. This is also supported by the fact that stainless steel jewellery is already in low price segments, which, however, is not decisive for the high-quality workmanship and qualities of this material. All pieces of jewellery can be made of stainless steel; rings, chains, earrings, etc. made of stainless steel can either have the typical metal look or be gilded in order to preserve the look of the higher quality material.
