Wristwatch

As a timekeeping device, the wristwatch is an essential part of a look for many people. However, this was not always the case. The pioneer of the wristwatch is the pocket watch, which was usually carried in the vest pocket. As this proved to be rather impractical in the course of time, wristwatches were used at the end of the 19th century. Unlike today, however, the first wristwatches did not run automatically, so they had to be wound up regularly. In order to avoid having to put the watch down constantly, it was decided to wear it on the arm that was used less actively. This has not changed until today. Once the choice has been made to wear the watch on one of the two arms, the optimal fit of the watch is above the wrist bone, on which the watch should fit as tightly as possible. However, a finger width of space between the watch and the arm is recommended. The main component of a wristwatch is, apart from the bracelet and clasp, the watch case. This differs both technically and externally depending on the movement. Since watches are no longer only a means to an end, but also a stylish accessory, there is a variety of different wristwatches. The designs range from bracelets made of classic leather or trendy mesh, to different dials and hands, to different shapes of the watch case.
