Baselworld

The fair Baselworld is the most important event for anyone working in the jewellery sector or generally interested in valuable handicraft products. Since 1917, jewellery has been exhibited in Basel at this fair, which has evolved over the years from a single pavilion to a top international event of gigantic proportions. Today, the exhibitors have around 160,000 m² at their disposal, which are used by over 100,000 visitors from all over the world. In addition to around 2,000 exhibitors and numerous visitors, Baselworld is always visited by a large number of journalists (in 2008 there were around 3,000 from 70 countries). In addition to ornamental jewellery, Baselworld also focuses on watches. Jewellery manufacturers, goldsmiths, jewellery dealers and jewellers will be presenting their products and goods, exchanging views on knowledge, techniques and methods of jewellery processing and sharing other information on the subject of jewellery. Baselworld is also the most important jewellery fair in the world for the reason that numerous companies in the jewellery and watchmaking sector present their products exclusively here.
