The layer chain is a piece of jewellery of the special kind. Unlike common types of chains, the layer chain consists of two or more chains. These are connected to each other by a single fastener, which makes it easy to put them on in one go. This is exactly the origin of the layer chain. Many women found the creation of several chains annoying, which is why the individual elements were simply combined into one chain. By combining several chain strands in different lengths, the so-called layer look is created. This is the eponym of the layer chain. To make sure that every element is clearly visible during layering, the typical layer chain consists of chain strands of different lengths. These chains can be variable in their link type or coloring. Some layer chains, for example, consist of a classic anchor chain and a filigree curb chain. Others also have one or more pendants, such as round engraving plates or gemstones. But also the material and the surface of the jewelry can differ from each other. Thus there are layer chains that combine rosé, gold or silver.
