Flawless

In the jewellery industry, the term flawless is used to describe a particularly important quality feature. If a diamond is flawless, it has a particularly high degree of clarity, which, in combination with other characteristics such as the cut, gives it its characteristic brilliance and attractive shine. How pure a diamond is is determined all over the world according to particularly strict criteria. There is an internationally recognised system for this (GIA, Gemological Institute of America), through which the other degrees of clarity of this gemstone can also be recorded. However, there are also other recognised laboratories that offer certificates and assessments. These, though, deviate somewhat from the scale of the GIA. The designation flawless is the highest distinction that a diamond can receive in terms of clarity. Such a stone has no inclusions in its interior and no such impurity can be detected even at tenfold magnification. Since such gemstones are extremely rare, jewellery lovers find them only in the highest price range. Internationally, the English term "flawless" or "internally flawless" has become established for flawless diamonds. The difference between "Flawless" and "Internally Flawless" is that diamonds with the classification IF (Internally Flawless) are 100 % flawless on the inside, but have slight blemishes on the surface. These are technically not flaws, but the only difference between the extremely rare grade F and the very rare grade IF. Diamonds of these two grades can also be called "LC", which stands for "Loupe Clean". If a diamond is flawless, it is considered perfect by both laymen and experts.
