There are many symbolic pieces of jewellery, but few are as meaningful as engagement rings. The engagement ring is considered the ultimate symbol of the promise of marriage, its round shape symbolising neither beginning nor end. Thus the ring stands for an everlasting love, but also for fidelity and devotion, regarding the common future. The present-day symbolic power of the engagement ring was preceded by the basic idea of an indissoluble bond - marriage. Traditionally, the future husband makes the proposal and presents his chosen one with the engagement ring. Even today, the man is usually the initiator of the proposal of marriage, which generally precedes the engagement. It is therefore usually up to him to choose and buy the ring. Once the proposal is made, the engagement ring is usually worn on the ring finger of the left hand. After the wedding, it is either worn on the right hand as a ring to accompany the wedding ring, or it remains on the left hand. But that is entirely up to the woman. Engagement rings, which in their early days were kept rather discreet, are now available in a wide variety of designs and materials. Diamond-set rings are particularly popular. These can consist of a single diamond or be completely set. Recently, our range has also included engagement rings with so-called FairJewel diamonds.
