Bezel Setting

The bezel setting is a very old technique, how gemstones can be connected permanently and reliably with the piece of jewellery. The stone is surrounded by a strip-shaped ring of the jewellery material and held in place. The stripe covers the edges of the gemstone either completely or only partially, as with the half bezel setting. If the gemstones set in it have straight edges, a bezel setting is possible, but difficult to realize. Round cut or oval gemstones can be set particularly well in this way. Since the bezel setting is already a very old possibility of gemstone setting, it is always accompanied by a classic and antique character. Nevertheless, it gives the gemstone a dynamic contour that is significant for modern jewellery. The precise work steps required for a bezel setting make every piece of jewellery in which the gemstone is fixed in this way a product of genuine craftsmanship. The bezel setting protects the edges and corners of the gemstones used perfectly, which makes it ideal for frequently worn jewellery and is therefore also used for earrings, necklaces and rings.
