The Brisur is a small, but extremely important element for various ear jewellery. The word Brisur comes from the French word brisure, which means joint, bending and breaking, buckling. In the jewellery industry, this refers to a particularly delicate joint located on the ear jewellery. The Brisur is responsible for the attachment, respectively for the firm fit of the respective ear jewellery. The fine joint has a Brisur hook, a Brisur pin as well as the Brisur patent and Brisur jaw. Folding Brisures are probably among the most popular and most frequently used closing mechanisms for ear jewellery, which is also due to the fact that this type of closure has been known for around 200 years. Without a Brisure, they would often get lost and would not be as easy and quick to put on and take off. Since many people are allergic to metal, the brisur is often made of 925 silver or, in the case of gold earrings, of gold. The body usually shows no reaction against these precious metals, which is of course desirable when used directly in and on the ear.
