Costume Jewellery

Costume jewellery refers to the type of jewellery that has the latest designs but can be purchased at a reasonable price. This jewellery relies entirely on its appearance, which corresponds to the prevailing styles, in order to be able to adorn its wearer in the best possible way. Costume jewellery has no material value worth mentioning, it is usually made of low-priced metals (e.g. tombac or brass), glass or plastic; instead of aiming for the highest possible and lasting material value, it merely has the task of being a handsome and attractive visual accessory for its owner. Costume jewellery is both inexpensive to produce and affordable for the customer, making it the most widespread type. Fashion jewellery came into the spotlight back around 1920, Coco Chanel in fact launched a collection of these jewels at that time to match the clothes she was designing at the same time. This moment marked the beginning of the serial production of costume jewellery, which to this day is about recreating real gems and high-quality precious metals with great similarity and designing refined jewellery that is in no way inferior to real accessories in terms of its visual design.
