Choker

The choker is a piece of jewelry that belongs to the category of necklaces. It is characterised by the fact that it fits particularly tightly around the neck. Unlike other typical necklaces, the Choker differs in its different closure options. From the 90s, the so-called tattoo choker is particularly well known. This is stretchy and can be pulled over the head very easily, whereby it clings to the neck accordingly. The choker consists of a thin and elastic material, which reminds of a tattoo due to its curved lines. But the choker also cuts a good figure in the form of lace, satin or leather straps. In these cases the closure is usually size adjustable. Some chokers can be closed à la Western style with cords, others with a lobster clasp with extension chain. Apart from textile ribbons, filigree or coarse link chains in gold, silver or rosé are also popular - as are chokers with small or large pendants. Pearl necklaces and omega chains with a length of approx. 38-40 centimetres can also be called chokers.
