Venetian Chain

 Venezianerkette
The Venetian chain is a type of chain that is named after its Italian origin. The distinctive feature of chain variations is the shape of the links and their arrangement. In this piece of jewellery the chain links are arranged in a rectangular shape with relatively high side walls. These links are then joined together as with any other chain. When the Venetian chain starts to move, the square elements move into each other, giving this type of chain a very attractive and stylish look. The chain links cover the empty space in between by lying close to each other and sliding over each other. Due to its characteristic shape, the Venetian chain is also perfectly suited to be worn as a standalone, i.e. without any additional decorative pendant. In addition, a necklace of this design is equally suitable for men and women. It can be made of all common materials used in jewellery making, the most common being sterling silver.
