1. Ink pad method:

• Shade a small area on paper with a soft pencil
• Rub your finger over the shaded area until the fingertip is fully covered
• Transfer the print with transparent tape onto white paper

In principle, almost any fingerprint can be used. However, the quality of the result strongly depends on the template. Very light, blurry or very dark, solid prints are unfortunately not suitable for a beautiful engraving, as fine lines and details get lost. The best engraving results are achieved with clear, high-contrast prints where the pattern is easy to recognize. When creating and photographing your fingerprint, please make sure that all details are as clearly visible as possible – this allows us to achieve the best possible engraving result for you.

To preserve handwriting on jewellery, write your desired text on a white, unlined sheet of paper. Then photograph the handwriting in good lighting conditions so that the image is sharp and the background remains truly bright. This way, you can turn names, short messages, signatures or even children’s drawings into a lasting memory on your piece of jewellery.

For handwriting to be suitable for engraving on jewellery, it should meet the following requirements: It is best to use a dark pen such as a fineliner or felt-tip pen so that the writing is clearly legible and high in contrast. The white, unlined paper is particularly important so that no lines or shadows affect the engraving result and all details remain clearly visible on the piece later on. The template should be digitised as a sharp, well-lit photo, with the background kept as bright as possible. Ideally, only the handwriting should be visible in the image. Try to adapt the layout of the text to the shape of the piece of jewellery as much as possible, for example in a single line for engraving plates or in several lines for round pendants. The clearer, more high-contrast and more distinct the template is, the more beautiful and detailed the engraving result on your piece of jewellery will be.
