Classic - Unique pendants

Engraving Guide – Fingerprint

How can I create a fingerprint?

1. Ink pad method:

  • Use dark ink (black/blue) on white paper
  • Stamp your finger several times and pick the best print
  • Take a photo in good lighting and send it to: gravuren@thejewellershop.com

2. Pencil method:

  • Shade a small area on paper with a soft pencil
  • Rub your finger over the shaded area until the fingertip is fully covered
  • Transfer the print with clear tape onto white paper
  • Take a photo and send it to: gravuren@thejewellershop.com

3. Wax impression:

  • If a wax impression already exists (e.g. from a funeral home), you can take a well-lit, detailed photo of it
  • Send it to: gravuren@thejewellershop.com

Please make sure that your photos are sharp and well lit so that we can clearly see all fine lines for the engraving.

What requirements does the fingerprint need to meet?

In principle, almost any fingerprint can be used. However, the quality of the result strongly depends on the template. Very light, blurry or very dark and solid prints are unfortunately not suitable for a beautiful engraving, as fine lines and details get lost. The best engraving results are achieved with clear, high-contrast prints where the pattern is easy to recognize. When creating and photographing your fingerprint, please make sure that all details are as clearly visible as possible – this allows us to achieve the best possible engraving result for you.

How long does the production take?
